Recruits patients into grant programs: answers incoming inquiries, assessing eligibility, enrolling patients, and scheduling appointments. Oversees daily operations and workflow for the department's grants. Assesses social, functional, and financial patient needs as it relates to their ability to access healthcare, and connects patients with appropriate cancer screening and prevention services. Collaborates with the referring provider/practice, diagnostic center scheduling, free clinics, etc to ensure all guidelines and requirements are met for appropriate patient care, follow-up and billing/financial assistance. Manages all aspects of data entry to fulfill grant requirements. Attends health fairs, screenings, and meetings to provide information about grant programs and Riverside Health Cancer Services related to breast health, women's health issues, prostate cancer screenings, HPV vaccination, smoking cessation, lung cancer prevention and early detection, and colon cancer screening. Participates in collaborative events/offerings occurring with Cancer Services and their community partners, such as the American Cancer Society Relay for Life events, etc. Attends annual Outreach Worker retreat as offered by VDH state office. Oversees volunteers and related programs and activities.
