About The Position

Jefferson Healthcare is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director, Cancer Center to lead Oncology, Infusion, and Radiation Oncology services in Port Townsend, Washington. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and develop a comprehensive, patient-centered cancer program within a community-focused health system. The Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across cancer services, collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, pharmacy, ancillary departments, and organizational leadership. The position is responsible for supporting safe, high-quality care while strengthening access, patient experience, operational performance, employee engagement, and the continued growth of oncology and infusion services. This is much more than overseeing the day-to-day operations of a department; it requires a leader who can see the bigger picture while focusing on patients and families. The Director will help lead the continued development of cancer services through strategic planning, program development, operational leadership, patient access, quality, safety, experience, team leadership, mentoring, employee development, financial stewardship, budgeting, resource management, workflow improvement, operational efficiency, regulatory and accreditation readiness, physician/provider/interdisciplinary collaboration, community partnerships, education, prevention, outreach, and identifying opportunities to expand and strengthen cancer services. The role includes responsibility for annual operating and capital budgets, departmental productivity and staffing, program growth, financial performance, quality improvement, and long-term strategic planning for oncology and infusion services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related healthcare field
  • 7 years of cancer care experience
  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in oncology, infusion services, ambulatory care, or related healthcare operations
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of oncology and infusion operations
  • Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN)
  • Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC or NEA-BC), or another applicable leadership certification
  • Experience with oncology program development and strategic service-line growth
  • Experience with clinic or ambulatory healthcare operations
