About The Position

The Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) team at American Express is a global function responsible for making strategic credit and fraud risk decisions to ensure operational excellence, drive growth, and foster innovation. CFR leverages technology, infrastructure, and advanced computing techniques to enhance risk decisions and provide real-time customer communications and fraud servicing. This team manages risks throughout the customer lifecycle across consumer and commercial businesses and global products. They develop cutting-edge data capabilities, build profitable decision-making frameworks, create machine learning-powered predictive models, and refine customer servicing strategies. The Credit Risk Strategy team monitors credit portfolios and optimizes profit-based risk management decisions across the customer credit lifecycle. The Fraud Risk Strategy team analyzes and enhances controls for fraud vulnerabilities in product design, account acquisition, card issuance, servicing, and financial transactions.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program.
  • Bachelor's degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications required.
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering closely with Digital Product and Business Unit teams to provide insights that inform product development and marketing investment decisions.
  • Providing actionable, insightful analytical solutions to help the leadership team evaluate and drive business performance.
  • Collaborating extensively with colleagues to design and implement strategies based on statistical, financial, and economic analysis.
  • Providing analytical support for billing, revenue growth, profitability, and customer experience through diverse projects.
  • Integrating new data sources and capabilities to drive key business decisions.
