About The Position

Charge Nurse responsible for leadership of all Landis Homes staff on duty during his/her working hours. Responds to emergency calls from residents, manages staffing issues as they occur (call-offs, sudden illnesses while on the job, no shows, etc.) and assists with regular staffing shortages on a more long-term basis. Holds staff accountable for care given to residents in accordance with established Landis Homes' policies and procedures and state and federal guidelines. Functions on behalf of Landis Homes administration and intervenes in any situation requiring supervisory input and decision-making, exercising good judgment in knowing when to consult with appropriate off-duty management and/or healthcare professionals, such as resident physicians.

Requirements

Current license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or an RN licensed by another state as an RN and who has applied for endorsement from the State Board of Nursing and has received written notice that the application has been received by the State Board of Nursing. This applies for 1 year, or until Commonwealth licensure is completed, whichever period is shorter.
Has and maintains current CPR certification.
Experience in nursing service administration and supervision and in areas such as Rehabilitative or Geriatric Nursing required.
Able to work independently, well-organized, and can multi-task.
Proficient in use of computer and related technology required for the role.
Good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills required.
