About The Position

As the Campus Security Officer, you will perform security duties associated with the GE Schenectady campus. Second and Third shift roles are available. This role requires completing all required training and maintaining all required certifications for security protection, responding to on-site emergencies, and maintaining effective campus access controls.

Requirements

• Ability to work 2nd Shift (2pm-10pm)
• High School Diploma / GED
• Current State of New York Security Guard License (must have completed the 16-hour course)
• Willingness to submit to a check of your driving record (if operating a GE vehicle)
• Ability and willingness to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability and willingness to climb and descend stairs

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Security, or other criminal justice discipline from an accredited college or university
• Previous law enforcement / security experience
• First Aid / AED / CPR certification
• Experience with 2-way radio
• Call taking / dispatching experience in an emergency and service related environment
• Experience in conducting minor criminal investigations
• Experience in conducting Motor Vehicle Accident Investigations (Basic Level)
• Ability and willingness to complete written reports accurately
• Ability to willingness to communicate effectively in English in all oral and written communications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
• General knowledge in use of Internet Resources
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, oral and written

Responsibilities
