About The Position

Ready to suit up as a Campus Security Guard? What matters most in a role like this is your ability to read the environment, anticipate risk and act accordingly. Your keen sense of observation and strong social skills are your greatest strengths. As a Campus Security Guard, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors by conducting regular patrols, monitoring campus activities, and responding promptly to incidents or emergencies. Working in a dynamic academic setting, you will provide a visible presence, interact with a diverse community, and use strong observation skills and sound judgment to prevent issues and ensure safety at all times.

Requirements

Be authorized to work in Canada
Hold a valid BC security license
First aid certification is required (Intermediate or OFA2)
Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
Exceptional customer service skills
Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations
Responsive and strong problems solving skills

Responsibilities

Patrol campus areas to identify and report suspicious activity
Verify identification and control access to restricted areas
Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies, documenting actions taken
Monitor alarms, CCTV systems, and conduct on-site checks as needed
Coordinate with law enforcement during serious incidents
Provide assistance to students, staff, and visitors while enforcing campus policies
