About The Position

The Campus Rec Student Worker is responsible for performing operational tasks for Campus Recreation programs and facilities. They will provide excellent customer service, maintain facility and asset cleanliness, ensure that all policies are followed by guests and participants, and ensure all safety measures are being implemented.

Requirements

  • Current Liberty University student
  • Ability to work up to 18 hours per week
  • Availability to work within the operational hours of 8:00am – 5:30pm (Monday – Friday)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Frequently required to sit or stand in one location for extended periods to perform tasks assigned to varying positions.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move around the facility
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 40 or fewer pounds.

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring facility cleanliness, effective operations, and a high level of customer service, at the Campus Recreation business office, during operational hours.
  • Completing day-to-day operational tasks including: greeting guests, answering phone calls, keeping office common areas clean and organized, distributing mail, recording inventory, as well as assisting in the day-to-day requests of departmental needs.
  • Directing outside phone calls, questions, or information to the appropriate Campus Rec employee or department as needed.
  • Effectively communicating any issues or patron complaints to the Administrative Assistant during operational hours.
  • Ensuring clean and organized office common areas through stocking supplies and maintaining clean public spaces.
  • Regularly assisting with events and operations during evening, nights or weekend hours.
  • Attending all required Campus Recreation trainings and meetings.
  • Performing all other tasks assigned by the Administrative Assistant to assist with Campus Recreation operations and programming.
  • Working effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
