Campus Police Officer - Part-Time

About The Position
Under general supervision, patrols assigned areas and ensures safety of campus buildings and grounds for the technical college. This is a part-time position. Employment is with Chattahoochee Technical College and not with an individual campus. All employees are subject to work relocation based on college needs. Any applicant offered employment in this position is required to complete a pre-employment drug test, successfully.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- P.O.S.T. certificate is required.
- P.O.S.T. certification (in good standing)
- Completion of yearly continuing education mandates
- Periodic firearm qualification
- A valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- Current P.O.S.T. Certification in good standing.
- Successful completion of a Field Training program.
- Previous working experience in law enforcement in a college or other school environment.
- Twelve or more months working as a Police Officer.
- Possession of a valid Georgia Class C driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Responsibilities
- Manages traffic flow and enforces parking regulations.
- Investigates traffic incidents, vandalism, theft, violence and may arrest perpetrators of crimes.
- Performs administrative duties.
- Travels between campuses with the possibility of fluctuating hours and evening hours.
