About The Position
Sworn officer, firearms qualified. Establishes and maintains a safe atmosphere for faculty, staff, students and visitors at an institution by providing police and security services.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass physical agility (PAT) prior to the final offer
- Must pass drug testing and medical management
- Must successfully pass a background check before the official hire date
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment psychological evaluation before the official hire date
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and be within a certain height and weight range per WV State Police Academy requirements to be able to attend the Academy
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment polygraph test before official hire date
- Applicants who do not possess West Virginia Law Enforcement Officer certification must attend and complete West Virginia Basic Law Enforcement Academy within one year following hire
- Must be bondable upon background check
