About The Position

This position is responsible for the direct supervision of house parents and other home life staff as assigned, to include coordination of staff scheduling, transportation and related activities. Develops and manages home budgets within guidelines and expectations. Is responsible for the planning, organizing, and implementation of monthly community gatherings and activities, promoting community awareness of good deeds and accomplishments, and providing opportunities for connection and belonging for both staff and children. This position must reside on campus; housing is provided.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Texas Childcare Administrator’s License within one year of employment.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in childcare is required.
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required.
  • Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing/pulling, prolonged sitting/standing.
  • Proficiency in general office equipment operation is required.
  • Must possess exceptional time management and detail-orientation skills.
  • Must reside on campus in housing provided.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Must be available for travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in staff supervision, to include interviewing/hiring, performance evaluations, etc., is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support House Parents and residential staff, ensuring quality care and adherence to program expectations.
  • Coordinate onboarding, training, and ongoing development for House Parents and new residential staff.
  • Manage staffing schedules, coverage, and on-call support for assigned homes.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and promote effective communication among residential staff and support teams.
  • Oversee resident transportation, travel arrangements, and community activities.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for residents using approved intervention methods.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement resident care plans, interventions, and best practices.
  • Assist with program evaluation, staff performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and lead community-building events and activities that foster connection, belonging, and recognition for staff and residents.
