About The Position

The Campus Life Student Assistant will be responsible for managing the Campus Life Suite after hours so students can utilize the space. This includes ensuring the space stays well-maintained and that rules are being followed. Students in this role will also be able to work select events, like Family Weekend, as well. Minimum shift time will be two hours at a time. Students will be paid $12 an hour.

Requirements

Must have work study
Must bring a charged and working tablet or laptop to every shift
Knowledgeable about the offerings of the Campus Life and Student Involvement Office
Comfortable working independently without professional staff
Comfortable managing their peers
Comfortable requesting help from Mercer resources, like Mercer Police, when necessary
Complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) and present documentation verifying citizenship or permanent residency

Responsibilities

Managing the Campus Life Suite after hours
Ensuring the space stays well-maintained
Ensuring rules are being followed
Working select events, like Family Weekend
Answering guests questions
Ensuring that the space is safe and welcoming for students
Checking equipment in and out
Answering the Campus Life main phone line
Conduct daily building walkthroughs of the Connell Student Center
Maintaining detailed notes of questions and occurrences to be shared with Campus Life professional staff
