About The Position

The Association of Former Students engages and inspires the Aggie Network for Texas A&M University in perpetuating the Aggie Spirit. Through our Annual Fund, as well as other revenue streams, we provide scholarships, endowments, emergency student loans, and awards for faculty excellence. Support The Association’s Campus Engagement team by strengthening the operational execution, consistency and scalability of student-facing programs, while providing a current student perspective to enhance outreach effectiveness and student experience. Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of Texas A&M University.
  • Proficiency with standard office technology and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Suite.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including professional correspondence and basic proofreading, are required.
  • Willingness to work frequent evenings and weekends as needed is required.
  • Currently enrolled as a university student at Texas A&M University in College Station or Blinn College.

  • Involved or previously involved with high-impact student organizations, with strong knowledge of Texas A&M’s campus structure and established connections with student leaders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to support multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, exercise sound judgment and maintain a positive, solutions-oriented approach, including during time-sensitive or last-minute situations.
  • Ability to interact professionally and provide a high level of customer service to students, former students, faculty, staff and guests.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism in conduct, appearance and attendance, with reliability and accountability in fulfilling assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative and logistical support
  • Assist in coordinating large-scale events such as Buck Weirus Spirit Awards, Aggie Ring Day, GatheRing, Ring Remembrance and other Association events as requested.
  • Provide administrative support to The 1879 Society Ambassador program, including scheduling, communications and meeting coordination.
  • Assist the 1879 Ambassador leadership team with logistical and administrative needs, including scheduling, room reservations and catering coordination.
  • Coordinate logistical aspects of VIP campus tours, including scheduling, transportation arrangements and preparation of itineraries.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for big check presentations, including scheduling coordination, materials preparation and internal communication.
  • Attend events with the Campus Engagement team to support relationship-building efforts with students, faculty, staff and families.
  • Support Campus Engagement outreach efforts (e.g., resource fairs, campus events, tabling).
  • Promote awareness of The Association and its mission through student-facing interactions and event support.
  • Support initiatives that increase interaction between current and former students, faculty and staff through event engagement and program participation.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance Association events, programs and the overall student experience.
  • Participate in various Association-wide activities such as engagement and fundraising goals, internal event teams, task committees, attending gameday receptions, Distinguished Alumni Gala and other external events as required.
  • Serve as an ambassador by meeting our Team Expectations, fostering relationships with students and other constituents of Texas A&M.
