About The Position

Oversees retail dining operations to facilitate successful operations and meet revenue objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Moderate amount of supervisory experience in food service, culinary arts, retail or other related experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain food safety managers certification approved by conference for food protection
  • Ability to work daytime, night and weekend shifts

Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily operations of the counter operation and supervises cash handling procedures
  • Maintains all sanitation and safety standards established by the university
  • Maintains the proper storage and rotation of ready-made food products complying with appropriate standards
  • Assists with creating menus for the dining center and executes the preparation and delivery of menu items, as needed
  • Maintains supply inventory by ordering supplies from approved vendors while maintaining cost objectives, receiving goods and storing them appropriately
  • Assists with creating and coordinating work schedule for staff and students
  • Monitors the departmental budget
  • Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
  • Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned
