About The Position

The Dining Supervisor is responsible for the general first-line oversight of a particular dining function or location work shift. Decisions made are operational in nature and within guidelines that have been established by senior management. Ensures established guidelines and procedures are followed by subordinates. Takes responsibility for work performed by assigned staff. Directly and actively participates in the production of a superior guest experience. Conducts business with high ethical standards. Uses discretion with business and personnel information.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • FL Driver's License
  • Initial required courses-Active Shooter Response, Computer Security,Discrimination Free Workplace, Violence in the Workplace.
  • Annual required courses-Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace, Emergency and Fire Preparedness, Hazard Communication, Portable Fire Extinguisher Safety, Sexual Harassment for Employees, Slips, Trips, and Falls
  • ServSafe Certification (Trained in house)
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience required in area of expertise

Responsibilities

  • With the direction of senior management this position has hands on operational and shift management responsibilities as a team leader for the successful execution of the assigned dining unit's plan of action.
  • Responsible for adherence to established quality standards, deadlines, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and procedures.
  • Oversees staff performance and directly participates in expediting proper customer service, safe food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Provides all employees with guidance and training in performance their required tasks.
  • Corrects course of action as necessary and provides job performance feedback.
  • Assists with the maintenance of records for customer counts, revenues and labor costs, food production, employee time and attendance and orders inventory as necessary or assigned.
  • Works within a team concept with other members of the Dining Department and encourages coordination/cooperation between campus dining units to insure a high level of continuity and productivity.
  • Assists with staff interviews and employee selection to meet the needs of the dining unit.
  • Participates in professional workshops, attends appropriate campus meetings and training sessions.
  • Assumes other projects or assignments as determined by the Dining Manager or Assoc./Assist Director.
  • Performs other duties within Dining or the University as assigned.
