About The Position

The Associated Students for Klamath Community College (ASKCC) advocates for the student body by creating opportunities for campus and community engagement and providing access to resources based on the individual and collective needs of students. The purpose of this role is to serve as a communication liaison among students, staff, administration, faculty, and clubs. This position will assist in facilitating student/club events and activities within the guidelines of Klamath Community College (KCC) policies and procedures. The role also involves serving on shared governance KCC Committees and Councils, as requested, and reporting information to students via the ASKCC minutes. The pay for this position is a monthly stipend of $475. The contract period for this position is August 2026 - June 2027.

Requirements

  • Must be a current student at Klamath Community College.
  • Must have a cumulative and per-quarter minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5.
  • Must have attended a new student orientation (NSO).
  • Must be willing to commit to yearlong assignment and serve in summer, fall, winter, and spring term.

Responsibilities

  • Serve eight (8) office hours a week.
  • Advocate and share the needs of club members on campus.
  • Maintain an updated list of active clubs on the website and in a club’s binder.
  • Maintain an updated calendar of all club meetings and events.
  • Plan and present annual club trainings to club officers and advisors.
  • Mentor students through club charter approval process.
  • Coordinate with PR Officer if there is a need to promote club events and meetings.
  • Coordinate and preside over monthly club council meetings.
  • Send bi-weekly email updates to active club advisors and club presidents or as information comes up.
  • Organize and host a summer sendoff club carnival event during spring term.
  • Organize and host a fall term club fair.
  • Assist other officers as deemed necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attend and report at weekly ASKCC meetings.
  • Attend at least one (1) Board of Education meeting per term.
  • Attend at least one (1) ASKCC and OSL event per month.
  • Host and attend one day during Welcome Week each term.
  • Attend two (2) Student Government and professional development trainings.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with advisor.
  • Participate in yearly ASKCC retreat prior to fall term.
  • Participate in term performance evaluation.
  • Participate in end of the year group and peer to peer evaluations.
