About The Position

The Campus Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, engaging, and hiring talent, (including interns, co-ops, full-time workers) from various educational institutions. S/he will collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and establish relationships with colleges and universities to attract top-tier applicants. Additionally, s/he will participate in career fairs, campus events, and information sessions to promote the company and job opportunities to students. The Campus Acquisition Specialist also frequently utilizes career fairs as a recruiting platform to connect and engage with job seekers face-to-face, conduct initial screenings, promote Baker’s brand, and potentially identify qualified applicants for current or future job openings S/he also performs administrative functions related to recruiting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years related experience preferably in construction or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to present information in written and oral form at various levels of co-workers within the Company
  • Ability to read and comprehend procedures, regulations, and laws
  • Ability to adapt presentation style to the applicable audience
  • Ability to calculate simple math such addition, subtraction, division, percentages, and ratios
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong proficiency with recruiting job boards / platforms such as Handshake, Linkedin, Indeed, etc.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems; SuccessFactors preferred
  • Ability to work with co-workers in a team environment

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams to promote the company's goals and enhance its visibility

Responsibilities

  • Attends career events, including schools, military bases, minority associations, and other local outreach sources
  • Maintains school/instructor relationships at events, career fairs, and in classrooms (technical schools, high schools, trade schools)
  • Ensures intern program is managed, including the process, sourcing, recruiting, on-boarding, coordinating intern housing and logistics, and final presentation/banquet, etc.
  • Serves as main point of contact for interns
  • Coordinates events that promote a team spirit among the interns/co-ops
  • Oversees the evaluation process of the interns/co-ops, including presentations, feedback sessions and final rating and rankings
  • Monitors social media outlets for available candidates
  • Screens resumes received through applicant tracker
  • Conducts pre-screening interviews
  • Maintains relationships with future prospects
  • Gives input to Regional Talent Manager regarding qualified candidates
  • Registers for career events and tracks pertinent information (career fairs visited, people interviewed and hired)
  • Ensures that PowerPoint presentations are updated and applicable to event
  • Ensures that there are enough supplies for various career events
  • Coordinates interviews for qualified candidates
  • Sends follow-up correspondence to candidates
  • Coordinates travel/relocation arrangements
  • Posts job openings and reviews resumes submitted to the ATS
  • Assists Regional Talent Manager on Baker-sponsored recruiting events
  • Champions Incident and Injury Free (IIF) environment
  • Sets example by following safety guidelines including but not limited to wearing PPE on jobs, staying aware of surroundings, etc.
  • Complies with proper safety procedures
