About The Position

This position is responsible for orchestrating coffee and beverage service to Campo guests with the same precision, consistency, and hospitality standards as the bar program. In addition to preparing espresso-based beverages, you will support service for the bar, cocktail patio, and dining room. Baristas may also assist with select beverage service, including non-alcoholic pairings and light wine service when required. The Campo beverage program is thoughtfully designed to produce an exceptional quality product while maintaining consistency in a high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • Strong food and beverage knowledge, with a focus on coffee, espresso, and café service
  • Well-developed knowledge of espresso preparation, milk texturing, and coffee fundamentals.
  • 2–4 years of prior experience as a barista in a high-quality or fine dining environment preferred.
  • A genuine interest in coffee, food, and hospitality.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Ability to multitask and support other roles (serve, host, bus, food run, etc.) as needed.
  • Ability to perform efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and move for 8–10 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs intermittently.
  • Flexible schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Introductory Sommelier Certification, or equivalent, is preferred
  • BarSmarts Certification is preferred and required within 60 days of hire
  • Certified Beer Server, or equivalent, is preferred
  • Interest in organic farming, agriculture, art, and architecture is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for opening and closing the coffee station, maintaining consistency, and following all procedures while working alongside the service team.
  • Prepare and serve espresso, coffee, and specialty beverages with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Take beverage orders, answer guests’ questions, anticipate their needs, and provide educated recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate cash handling and tip reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with inventory management as directed by management.
  • Maintain appropriate control over inventory to ensure proper stock levels and minimal waste.
  • Assist with seasonal menu changes and ensure proper execution with clear communication.
  • Follow house recipes and preparation standards with precision and consistency.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all coffee and service areas.
  • Work any day or shift as required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Take beverage orders from service staff or directly from guests.
  • Prepare espresso drinks and other beverages.
  • Serve food or beverages as needed.
  • Process customer payments accurately.
  • Maintain and clean coffee equipment and service areas.
  • Communicate with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve concerns.
  • Stock stations with necessary products and supplies.
  • Support overall restaurant operations as needed.
