In this position, you will use your expertise to bridge the gap between product design and manufacturing. This is a broad focus job, part of ICE Powertrain up to transmission. You will get to interface with a lot of different people and groups within Ford. Be the eyes and ears of ICE Engineers. The aim of Campaign Prevent Process is to prevent campaigns and recalls. It can be divided into three segments: Upstream: Deep Dive Reviews and Virtual Fresh Eyes Reviews conducted as part of the design process. Midstream: Workstation readiness reviews. Confirm product & process requirements are understood at the workstation level and that the manufacturing process has the potential to produce product consistently meeting these requirements. Downstream: Physical Fresh Eyes Reviews (FERs) of prototype, pre-durability, post-durability, pre-production, and production vehicles. The Campaign Prevention Process (CPS) leads each segment of the campaign prevent process.

Requirements

  • BS in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar degree.
  • 10 years of overall automotive engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of the design for assembly and design for manufacturing
  • PVT and/or Plant Launch experience desirable with good understanding of the vehicle assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office 365: XL, Word, PowerPoint, Project.
  • Self-starter with excellent teamwork, leadership, communication skills and a quality mindset.
  • Good organization skills and the ability to plan and perform multiple tasks are very important for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of Ford APQP and PPAP process (including FMEA, Control Plan, SCCAF…)

Responsibilities

  • Follow the Ford Global Campaign Prevention Process Guide
  • Lead the ICE Propulsion and Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE) Campaign Prevention Process
  • Perform & Report Out on Physical Vehicle Fresh Eyes Events in NA: Inspect durability vehicles and pre-production vehicles for fit, functional and compliance concerns
  • Document concerns and work with D&R Teams for Resolution and Closure
  • Workstation readiness reviews. Confirm product & process requirements are understood at the workstation level and that the manufacturing process has the potential to produce product consistently meeting these requirements.
  • Lead Campaign Prevent Deep Dive 1 and 2 events and perform signoff when complete
  • Perform & Report Out Virtual Deep Dive (Fresh Eyes reviews and Design Documentation)
  • Schedule team meetings, Review evidence of APQP and PPAP readiness and Coordinate.
  • Perform Signoffs to requirement compliance
  • Mentor teams in problem-solving activities to prevent recurrence of failures and customer issues
