About The Position

This manager is essential to safe pool and aquatics operations. The role requires alertness, flexibility, focus, attention to detail, and professionalism, coupled with a positive, outgoing attitude so that customers feel at ease and relaxed knowing you are around. The manager provides supervision to other Lifeguards, and will take responsibility for training, scheduling, coaching, discipline. Other duties such as pool cleaning, supplies inventory, and light maintenance are also essential.

Requirements

• Must be 21+ years of age, per regulatory requirements
• Must have a minimum of 1 season of previous experience as a camp aquatics director at a NYS children’s camp; OR 2 seasons of previous experience consisting cumulatively of at least 12 weeks as a children’s camp lifeguard; OR at least 18 weeks of previous experience as a lifeguard, at a swimming pool or bathing beach
• Must have completed or be willing to immediately complete the "Lifeguard Management" training course (URBN will pay for this course)
• Must have Lifeguard Certification, unexpired
• Must have CPR / First Aid / AED certification, received within the last year

Nice To Haves

• Water Safety Instructor certification, unexpired
• Infant/child CPR certification
• Summer Camp License

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests who come to use the pools and related amenities
• Supervise the pool and pool area and other Lifeguards at all times
• Act as the Primary Lifeguard for Camp time periods (11am-1pm weekdays)
• Take action to ensure pool rules are enforced
• Train, coach, and manage schedules for Lifeguards
• Ensure cleanliness of pools and pool decks
• Ensure guests feel welcomed, safe, and relaxed at the aquatics amenities
