About The Position
Supports the head camp nurse in maintaining the infirmary and managing the health and safety of campers and staff during summer camp season.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18
- Current CPR/First Aid certifications
- Completion of at least one year of college is required.
Nice To Haves
- Actively enrolled in a nursing program or have pediatric experience.
- EMT Certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist the camp nurse in evaluating illnesses, providing first aid for minor cuts/sprains, and supervising campers admitted to the infirmary.
- Help organize camper medications and assist the primary nurse in dispensing daily/as-needed medications according to physician prescriptions.
- Assist with camper drop-in and check-in processes, which include reviewing health history forms and checking for signs of communicable diseases or conditions like lice.
- Conduct inventory audits, restock infirmary beds, and prepare first aid kits for off-campus trips and campsite activities.
- Maintain detailed, confidential logs of all infirmary visits.
