About The Position

Under the direction of the Camp Maintenance Supervisor, this position assists in the maintenance and repair of the camp’s buildings, grounds, equipment, and other facilities consistent with the mission and established policies and procedures of the camp. The role involves ensuring the safety and upkeep of the camp environment for campers and staff.

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to observe children and youth and ensure their safety.
Endurance, including climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate maintenance equipment and perform maintenance activities.
Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to live in a camp setting and to work irregular hours.
Willingness to deliver a program at the facility available.
No formal education or experience required.
CPR and First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

Assists with camper luggage on opening and closing days.
Maintains campgrounds by operating necessary ground care equipment, such as mowers, tractors, and chainsaws, safely and efficiently.
Identifies and addresses hazards found on campgrounds.
Performs janitorial and general maintenance duties in buildings and areas designed (e.g., sweep, scrub, wax floors, wash windows and screens, pressure wash).
Disposes of trash and waste from camp facilities and campground daily.
