About The Position

A Camp Lead is someone who is enthusiastic and is ready to lead the camp team to deliver a unique climbing experience to new and returning campers. Camp Leads are patient, understanding, and are available for their counselors and campers.

Requirements

  • Passionate about climbing, working with kids, and instructing
  • Ability to harness imagination and find novel approaches to shared responsibilities
  • Ability to learn and grow from each task, challenge, and interaction while seeing them through to the end
  • Open to receiving and providing feedback, guidance, insight, assistance, and perspective in a professional manner
  • Work with a team, provide support to fellow team members, share ideas, and earn trust
  • Take initiative and have the drive to grow professionally
  • Top rope and climbing experience
  • Knowledge of Google Suite – Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive, etc.
  • Knowledge of Rock Gym Pro software
  • Knowledge of Basecamp
  • Experience working with kids in a camp setting
  • Experience coaching and instructing
  • Must be able to work at least one camp session per day & work Monday through Friday for the duration of the camp season

Responsibilities

  • Expert on all the responsibilities of a Camp Counselor
  • Manages the camp staffs’ schedule, including but not limited to, assigning meal and 10-minute breaks to ensure staff are following CA labor laws and company policy
  • Leads by example - motivates, inspires, and develops staff
  • Ensure the counselors are following the agenda and assigned activities
  • Ensures that shifts run efficiently, and checklists are completed
  • Serves as the point person to resolve customer questions or disputes that escalate beyond what the frontline staff can handle
  • Is an expert in Sender One's offerings and policies to better assist customers and answer their questions
  • Communicates any operational, customer service, risk management, and staff problems with the Programs Manager
