About The Position
NORY is seeking enthusiastic and energetic Camp Counselors for the final weeks of its summer camp programs. This is a short-term opportunity perfect for educators, college students, teaching artists, camp professionals, or anyone experienced with children who has immediate availability. The role offers a chance to make a positive impact on campers, gain valuable STEM training and experience, receive professional development, and potentially continue with NORY in year-round roles. NORY is a leading STEM camp provider in NYC and Boston, serving over 4,000 campers annually across multiple locations.
Requirements
- Immediate availability to start working as soon as possible.
- Availability through September 9.
- 1+ years of experience working with children ages 3-12.
- Genuine passion for education and child development.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies, activities, and teaching approaches.
- Positive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to bring enthusiasm, warmth, and energy to a dynamic camp environment.
- Reliability and adaptability, with the ability to onboard quickly, communicate clearly, and commit to a schedule.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as an educator, college student, teaching artist, or camp professional.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support campers through interactive STEM activities, encouraging their educational and personal development.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for campers, adhering to all camp safety procedures.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating camp activities to ensure each day is dynamic, structured, and enriching.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp leadership to ensure a smooth and positive experience for campers.
