Requirements

  • High school graduate (diploma) or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematics at a high school level.
  • Ability to lead and teach with empathy and dignity for a diverse group of individuals, including those who may require additional accommodations and/or considerations.
  • Minimum one year prior work experience in a professional role where primary duties included some form of mentorship, teaching, and/or training responsibilities.
  • Must be able to conduct daily duties with little to no supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience mentoring teens in career development roles preferred.
  • Prior experience demonstrating strong, individual work ethic with a high level of self-management, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise campers during specified time frames, ensuring safety, well-being, and appropriate behavior.
  • Provide overnight supervision of campers, remaining available and responsive throughout the night.
  • Assist campers with evening routines, including preparing for bed, supervising shower times, and ensuring all campers are in their assigned cabins.
  • Facilitate and coordinate calm, structured cabin activities designed to help campers transition to bedtime.
  • Attend camper registration to greet campers, build rapport, and review individual needs and supports.
  • Participate in camp departure activities, assisting with camper goodbyes and supporting cabin clean-up.
  • Guide campers during afternoon and evening sessions, fostering a supportive environment that encourages friendship and socialization.
  • Facilitate various activities and opportunities that promote teamwork, creativity, and personal growth.
  • Provide leadership for campers and peers.
  • Lead all evening program activities (Waterfront, Challenge Course, Archery, Arts and Crafts, Drama and Music).
  • Assist campers with minimal activities of daily living.
  • Resolve camper disputes in an appropriate manner and in accordance with camp policies.
  • Assist the Youth Services Employment Supervisor in attending to emergencies/incidents following camp policies.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • Report any unusual incidents involving campers and report any suspected injuries or illnesses.
  • Assist with oversight of camper med administration.
