About The Position

Woodcraft Rangers is seeking passionate individuals to join their Summer Day Program as Camp Community Liaisons. This role involves supporting day camp programs by fostering positive relationships with participants, families, and the community. The liaison will be responsible for daily sign-ins and sign-outs, maintaining communication boards, updating families on program information, and managing daily headcounts and rosters. This is an on-site position that may require attending training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office and school sites.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance
  • TB Test clearance
  • First Aid & CPR certification (provided by WR)
  • 6 months experience supervising a group of children in a school or recreational setting OR 6 units in child development.
  • Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling
  • For ABC Unified School District (Cerritos) Candidates ONLY - 48+ College Units or ABC Unified Paraeducator Test Completion.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily sign-ins and sign outs of all campers.
  • Ensure the communication board is up to date with program related information.
  • Keep families informed about program events, schedules, and upcoming field trips.
  • Manage the accuracy of day camp rosters and daily head counts of campers.
  • Ensure students are always in a safe environment (physically and emotionally).
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families.
  • Support camp leaders and camp coordinators with sign-in/out procedures and parent communication during sign-out.
  • Ensure all information on attendance rosters is accurate and complete daily.
  • Monitor participant attendance and engagement to ensure participants are present and actively engaged in program activities.
  • Organize and maintain participant registration forms, site information binder, and site directory board.
  • Assist camp coordinator with collecting and organizing information pertaining to cycle reports and other necessary reports.
  • Assist team with site-based events.
  • Serve as a substitute or fill in for a club if a camp leader or other team member needs a break or lunch.
  • Build positive relationships with program participants, colleagues, and all stakeholders.
  • Comply with all applicable safety requirements and emergency protocols, including being up to date on all trainings and required certifications.
  • May be required to attend off-site field trips.
  • Participate in staff development trainings, as required, approximately 15 hours spread out over multiple weekends/intersessional days throughout the spring.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
