About The Position

KidStrong is a milestone accelerator for kids walking through 11 years old. We help parents build stronger, smarter, more athletic kids by discovering their child’s superpowers and building future-ready kids who are confident making friends, running the playground, and raising their hands high in the classroom. KidStrong Summerville is rapidly growing and seeking talented, enthusiastic professionals who are passionate, energetic, and excited to engage with parents and kids to make an impact on their lives. This role focuses on coaching children in brain, physical, and character development using a designed camp curriculum. The ideal candidate will be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents during camp. Camps typically run when school is out, from 9 am - 2:30 pm, with potential for increased hours through private party coaching and KidStrong Class coaching.

Requirements

  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable!
  • Experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred.
  • CPR certified
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter who just gets a job done
  • Must be available during camp hours (9 am - 2:30 pm, may vary).
  • Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment.
  • Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids.

Responsibilities

  • Coach children on brain, physical, and character development based on a designed camp curriculum.
  • Ensure camps start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of the curriculum.
  • Greet students and parent(s)/guardian(s) upon arrival.
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor while leading camp.
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises.
  • Keep an accurate record of attendance.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and floors, which includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing mats.
  • Effectively use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records for parents (attendance, awards, etc.).
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack.
  • Complete training through LearnUpon as required.
  • Work in a physically intensive environment, potentially covering multiple miles in a shift, lifting and moving equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Work "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and student safety.
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required.
  • Obtain camp-certified status.
  • Provide supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers, ensuring the well-being of all children.
