About The Position

KidStrong is a milestone accelerator for kids walking through 11 years old. We help parents discover their child’s superpowers and build future-ready kids who are confident making friends running the playground and raising their hands high in the classroom. KidStrong Summerville is rapidly growing and we're looking for talented, enthusiastic professionals who are passionate, energetic, and excited to engage with parents and kids and make an impact on their lives. The KidStrong Camp Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development that stems from a designed camp curriculum. Ideal candidates must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp. Camps typically run when school is out, from 9 am - 2:30 pm, which may vary depending on locations. There are additional opportunities to increase scheduled hours through private party coaching hours & KidStrong Class coaching, which may require additional training.

Requirements

  • Passion for working with children is non-negotiable!
  • CPR certified
  • Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Athletic or coaching background
  • Experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 9
  • Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics

Responsibilities

  • Camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages ranging from 4 - 9
  • Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team
  • Ensure camp both start and ends on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum
  • Greet students as well as parent(s)/guardian(s) as they arrive to camp
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading camp
  • Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises
  • Keep an accurate record of attendance at all times
  • Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift
  • Effectively use the KS Coach’s App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)
  • Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers
  • Complete training through LearnUpon as required by the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through camp, lift and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.
  • Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
  • Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director
  • Must obtain camp-certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team
  • Supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers while ensuring the well-being of all children
