About The Position
The Summer Camp Coach is responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where campers can improve their basketball skills. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to adapt instruction based on individual and group needs. Camp Coaches collaborate with camp staff to ensure a positive experience for all participants.
Requirements
- This position is open to all individuals with prior experience or interest in coaching at the youth level.
- All UNH youth program staff shall be subject to a criminal background check as required by NH State Law.
- Staff and volunteers will also be required to complete periodic child safety training.
Responsibilities
- Lead station work focused fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, etc.
- Provide positive feedback and encouragement to help campers build confidence and improve.
- Supervise campers during stations, team practices, and games.
- Assist with other camp activities when needed and support overall camp operations.
- Work closely with other camp coaches to create a fun, organized, and inclusive environment.
- Participate in daily staff meetings and communicate camper’s progress or concerns.
- Model respectful, responsible behavior.
