Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions; communication between coaches, parents, and campers regarding medical information; and can handle and distribute prescription medication. Athletic trainers can diagnose injuries including a head injury. Due to the time restraint of the camp, we cannot do a Return-to-play progression. Once a head injury is diagnosed, a camper needs full medical clearance from a doctor in order to return.
