About The Position

The Camera Systems Administrator will manage all body worn equipment, recordings, and ensure the system is being worn and operated correctly. The administrator will work with the contracted body worn company for any malfunctioning devices, broken equipment, and any other special needs. They will conduct on the job training to enhance use of the body worn device. In addition, the administrator will assist with proper classification of video, assist with creating case files for prosecution when needed. The Camera Systems Administrator will also be tasked with special projects to include assisting with the accreditation process, training new officers, and other special projects or tasks at the request of the director. Lead staff responsible for maintaining the safety, custody, security and control of inmates at all levels of security in an indirect or direct supervision, prisoner processing or work release environment on assigned shift.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to thirty credit hours in the behavioral sciences, criminology or corrections and three years of work experience including one year of experience as a Corrections Officer.
  • Required to work mandatory overtime and to work on any shift as needed.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid from the American Red Cross.
  • Some positions require possession of a Type III Alco?analyzer and Breathalyzer operator's permit.
  • Some positions require certification as a service user by the Regional Justice Information Service (REJIS).
  • Some positions require qualification with the use of a weapon.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with proper classification of video.

  • Perform other special projects or tasks at the request of the director.
  • Lead Corrections Officers on shift in monitoring inmates' daily activities.
  • Follow-up of incidents involving disturbances, grievances and rule and regulation infractions by inmates and officers.
  • Conduct scheduled and random search of facility and equipment for contraband, cleanliness and maintenance requirements.
  • Provide lower workers shift relief in forms of leave or breaks.
  • Enforce rules and regulations to ensure adherence to policy and defined procedures.
  • Serve as mentor and field training of lower workers and assist with employee evaluation.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
