About The Position

Weigel Broadcasting in Chicago, IL, is seeking a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and hardworking Camera Operator to join its creative team. The role involves working directly with Weigel’s Director, Production and Creative Team to produce high quality videography while recording show related elements. The Camera Operator will also assist and fill in for various roles on the Production Team during tapings, including handheld camera, audio, floor direction, and teleprompter. Additionally, the position provides support for field shoots and daily production needs, requires effective communication across departments, and may involve performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

2–3 years of experience in broadcast, digital, or cable, in a video production-oriented role as a videographer
Hands-on experience with Sony PTZ, ENG-style cameras, and Steadicam preferred
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities
Proactive, reliable, and technically proficient
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs
