This position is the first level of management within a division. It directs the daily workflow of an assigned unit of between 10-15 employees and exercises supervisory authority over staff responsible for executing a specific component of the work of the unit. The role involves resolving complex problems arising out of customer account management, providing leadership, guidance, feedback, and training to staff, and communicating and enforcing operational and procedural changes to ensure compliance with M&T and division policy, investor regulations, and complex laws and regulations. The position also participates in or facilitates process innovation and special projects, understands and adheres to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls, and identifies risk-related issues needing escalation to management. It promotes an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand, maintains M&T internal control standards, and completes other related duties as assigned. The role exercises usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
