About The Position

SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic CAD/CAM drafter in Colorado Springs, Colorado to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the CAD/CAM drafter are responsible for responsive and coherent planning, development and delivery of PARCS and UEWR radar hardware and software modifications in response to change requests and deficiency reports.

Requirements

• SolidWorks
• AutoCAD
• Experience with applicable government standards
• Experience with ASME standards

Responsibilities

• Edits existing and creates new engineering drawings using CAD programs such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Ensures proper application of applicable government standards, ASME standards, and other guidelines for drafting engineering drawings
• Collaborates with project engineers to clarify and answer questions regarding drawing updates and support teams during planning sessions
• Reviews drawing updates and new drawings created by peers to ensure all information is incorporated correctly and all standards are followed
• Participates with drafting team members to brainstorm, create, and update drafting quality checklists, drafting guides, and other team documentation
• Coordinates with Configuration Management to ensure drawing baseline is maintained and updated by downloading work and uploading finished drawings in product lifecycle management platform
