About The Position

The purpose of this position is to assist the College of Arts & Media Ethington Theatre Series with the costume shop. The student will aid the Costume Designer in the execution of designs for Ethington Theatre’s main stage productions. This includes sewing, stitching, ironing, and general construction of costumes for each mainstage performance. The student is responsible for clocking in and out via the computer. Responsibilities also include assisting in organizing costume materials, helping to maintain a clean, organized workspace, and completing special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of basic sewing and costume construction techniques.
  • Must be on time and commit to a schedule.
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial standing with the University.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with theatre methodology is highly recommended.
