About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a Call Center Specialist to join their team at the HeartPlace clinics in the DFW area. This role involves managing patient interactions over the phone, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, handling billing inquiries, and ensuring accurate patient information is maintained. The position also requires adherence to organizational policies, participation in quality improvement and safety initiatives, and fostering a positive team environment.

Requirements

A High School diploma or GED from an Accredited Institution.
Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service.
Current valid state driver's license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of EMR systems preferred.
Cardiology practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Answers phone calls expediently and refer inquiries to the appropriate parties as needed.
Schedules and confirms patient appointments over the phone.
Explains health center procedures to patients.
Verifies medical insurance coverage and eligibility and expires on any insurance that is not active.
Informs patients with account balances and correct billing amounts.
Notifies patients with insurance co-pays.
Verifies patient demographic information.
Ensures accuracy of the information in telephone messages and deciphers the correct amount to charge a self-pay or sliding fee schedule for patients.
Provides referral status information to patients.
Follows processes and policies for the organization.
Fosters the goals of team building within the clinic/center staff.
Manages quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.
When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.
Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.
Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notify their supervisor of any attendance issues.
