About The Position

The Call Center Agent supports billing and accounts receivable activities for a provider of clinical respiratory equipment, durable medical equipment (DME), and related services. The role initiates billing claims, processes denials, and follows up on collections to support timely reimbursement for services provided. Candidates should provide outstanding customer service and may be trained if they demonstrate the desired qualities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass a federal background check.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent interpersonal, coordinating, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, with good communication skills.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
Computer literacy and ability to acquire working knowledge of relevant DME software.

Nice To Haves

Medical coding and/or billing certification preferred but not required.
Prior experience preferred but not required; training is available for candidates with the desired qualities.

Responsibilities

Read and understand medical terminology.
Review clinical documentation for compliance with Medicare guidelines.
Verify payor source and insurance eligibility.
Validate ICD-9/10 codes for products dispensed.
Apply correct modifiers and HCPCS codes to claims.
Submit accurate claims using Brightree billing software.
Reconcile billing errors daily.
Complete CMS 1500 claim forms as required.
Manage accounts receivable to maintain payments within 90 days.
Meet monthly closing timeline requirements.
Communicate effectively with company management and coworkers.
Attend meetings and conference calls as directed by the manager.
Develop working knowledge of pertinent DME software.
Comply with applicable federal, state, and local government regulations and agency requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
