About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a California Design and Engineering (D&E) Delivery Lead to join their expanding team. This position, located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or other major CA cities, focuses on providing solutions for complex transportation design challenges. The role involves growing the business by building client and teaming partner relationships, supporting pursuit activities, and assisting with staff recruitment.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • California Professional Engineering license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • In-depth understanding of Caltrans project delivery processes.
  • Experience delivering projects in the transportation industry.
  • Ability to oversee overall delivery of growing design and engineering teams following Arcadis’ process and industry best practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Initiative-taking, collaborative, and flexible individual.
  • Excellent, clear, and concise, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, conduct effective client presentations, and prepare written reports.

  • Design Build, Alternative Delivery and Owner’s Representative Experience
  • Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the delivery of transportation improvement projects, including the entire project delivery life cycle from pursuit, scoping, pricing, delivery, and change management.
  • Recruiting, mentoring, and directing Delivery Project Managers and key discipline leads on project execution, including risk management, scoping, pricing, and scope/budget management.
  • Working with the quality team to implement quality management activities within project execution.
  • Conducting monthly project reviews to oversee project execution, discuss project risk management plans, validate resourcing needs, and monitor project progress against key performance indicators.
  • Conducting regular client check-ins to monitor client satisfaction with Arcadis’ performance, interacting with client points of contact and technical staff, making presentations, and managing client expectations.
  • Participating in business development activities, including client visits, marketing strategy development, and proposal preparations. May serve as project pursuit lead for key opportunities.
  • Performing various roles on multi-disciplined projects, such as QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, design leader, and/or client-facing project manager.
  • Preparation of written reports, calculations, and other design documentation.
