About The Position

Kardium is seeking an Equipment Calibration Technician responsible for managing calibrations, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing, inspection, and test equipment used in the production of medical devices. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485) and internal quality systems by maintaining accurate records and ensuring equipment operates within specified tolerances. This is an on-site role located in Burnaby, BC.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in calibration management or similar field
  • Technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and documentation
  • Experience working with or applying the ISO17025 standard
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good hands-on mechanical and electronic aptitude for handling, assembling and disassembling equipment to access embedded sensors.
  • Proficiency with a range of measurement equipment (ex. calipers, multimeters, thermometers, laser power sensors, etc.)
  • Experience performing impact assessments and root cause analysis
  • Flexible and able to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment as heavy as 25 kg as required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) software
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment such as ISO13485 or AS9100 preferred.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the calibration lifecycle for equipment used in the manufacture and testing of a biomedical device
  • Coordinate the shipment of equipment to and from third-party vendors
  • Identify and define calibration requirements for equipment through research and consultation with internal and external subject matter experts
  • Review calibration certificates for accuracy, completeness and compliance with ISO 17025 and Kardium quality standards
  • Perform the removal, installation and performance testing of sensors embedded in manufacturing and testing equipment
  • Support equipment engineering teams by contributing to impact assessments, calibration frequency optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop, update and maintain equipment calibration guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards
