About The Position

Avid Bioservices is a leading clinical and commercial biologics CDMO focused on creating innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients and improve patient outcomes. The Calibration Technician performs scheduled and unscheduled calibrations across a broad range of instruments, equipment, and standards to support equipment accuracy, traceability, and cGMP compliance. The role maintains calibration schedules, records, standards, vendor documentation, and software data needed to preserve complete device histories and traceability to NIST standards. The position applies established calibration methods and measurement-science principles to pipettes, balances, gauges, chart recorders, and other mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical equipment. The Calibration Technician supports equipment repairs, investigations, corrective and preventive actions, audits, inspections, and new projects within assigned scope. The role collaborates with Facilities, Quality, internal departments, vendors, and contractors to support compliant and reliable operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education, technical training, and experience.
  • Experience performing instrument or equipment calibration in a cGMP environment.
  • Experience with calibration software such as Blue Mountain or an equivalent system.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine and apply appropriate calibration methods for systems, instruments, and loops within established requirements.
  • Ability to maintain complete and accurate GMP-compliant calibration records.
  • Experience working in an ISO-controlled environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree in instrumentation, electronics, metrology, engineering technology, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience as an instrumentation or calibration technician in a cGMP environment.
  • Experience operating or implementing calibration-management systems such as Cal-Man, Blue Mountain, or an equivalent platform.
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, investigations, root-cause analysis, or corrective and preventive actions.
  • Experience using a broad range of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical calibration standards and test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled calibrations on pipettes, balances, gauges, chart recorders, and other assigned equipment to maintain measurement accuracy and operational readiness.
  • Maintain calibration schedules for equipment and standards to support timely completion and continued compliance.
  • Use calibration software, including Blue Mountain or an equivalent system, to maintain accurate calibration status, records, and equipment histories.
  • Maintain complete calibration and standards records that support device history and traceability to NIST standards.
  • Apply appropriate mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical calibration standards and test equipment to execute accurate calibration work.
  • Perform repair maintenance on assigned equipment and complete associated calibration activities to restore compliant operation.
  • Prepare calibration instructions and procedures using measurement-science principles, technical analysis, and accuracy and precision requirements to support consistent execution.
  • Provide calibration information and technical support for quality investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and new projects or procedures.
  • Maintain vendor qualification and service documentation related to the calibration, maintenance, and repair of company standards and equipment.
  • Support audits, inspections, regulatory compliance, safety requirements, and continuous-improvement activities to strengthen calibration-system performance.
