About The Position

Embark on a new career journey to shape the future as a Mechanical Calibration Technician, where you will be part of a team crafting transformer and power systems destined for military and industrial products. IT & Cybersecurity Specialists at Espey are responsible for designing, securing, maintaining, and optimizing IT infrastructure in compliance with defense industry standards and mission-critical requirements. This role requires broad expertise across cybersecurity, hardware, software, networking, and systems administration, with the ability to handle any IT-related activities in a highly regulated, high-security setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a calibration capacity supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Essential Functions include: frequently required to sit, talk, & hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Effectiveness depends on coordinating the work of other departments.

  • Experience in military manufacturing, defense, aerospace, or industrial environments
  • Ability to work independently and manage a wide range of IT responsibilities
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail & a security-first mindset
  • Comfortable navigating complexity, troubleshooting unique problems, attention to detail, critical thinking, innovation, and independence balanced with cross-functional partnerships, bias for action, & strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in working in manufacturing or production environments
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for measuring tools and equipment.
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  • Disassembles equipment and inspects components for defects.
  • Measures parts for conformity with specifications.
  • Repairs, replaces, and maintains calibrated equipment.
  • Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring and indicating equipment.
  • Verifies and maintains inspection and production fixtures.
  • Processes RMAs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
