About The Position

This person will be responsible for performing a wide variety of duties to administer and maintain metrology equipment in the plant, particularly for product acceptance, where duties involve accurate and detailed communications with managers, supervisors, support and production personnel throughout the plant and also including vendors and customers as required and other similar duties necessary for the calibration function.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED combined with 2-5 years of progressive learning experience.
  • Associates degree or certificate in electronics, mechanical trades, engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of measurement principals regarding pressure, temperature, flow, mass, and electrical signals.
  • Familiarity with quality standards including ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, ANSI Z540, or cGMP guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain constant mental and visual attention/alertness to diverse testing procedures and other activities

Responsibilities

  • Identify and catalog instruments and gauges requiring calibration and/or repair.
  • Perform and/or delegate to competent/accredited third parties’ calibration and repairs.
  • Maintain instruments, gauges and reference standards per applicable NIST, customer, manufacture (OEM) and regulatory requirements.
  • Set up/and maintain maintenance of necessary catalogs, databases, recall systems, documentation, etc. Prepare necessary SOP’s, forms and guidelines in view of ISO-10012, ANSI-Z-540, MIL-STD-45662A and other relevant standards.
  • Prepare RFC (Request for Capital) for calibration related expenses. Prepare annual budget proposal, review and sign off on all metrology related acquisitions and purchases for the plant. Initiate purchase orders to maintain inventory of test and measurement parts and spares.
  • Completes calibrations, qualification and preventive maintenance in a safe, timely and accurate manner without direct supervision.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and maintenance of Judd’s and client equipment, including testing and standards equipment.
  • Perform routine equipment repair. Detect and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, unusual conditions to supervision. Suggest equipment upgrades. Observe all safety rules and regulations. Maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or instructed by supervisor.
