About The Position

Cross Company is a 100% employee-owned industrial technology company specializing in automation, hydraulics, precision measurement, and related services. The Calibration Technician II – Scale works primarily independently in the field to calibrate, maintain, and repair customers’ industrial scales. After calibration, the technician enters data into calibration software and prepares a Certificate of Calibration for the customer. The position involves customer service calls, including emergency repairs during or after working hours, and requires local travel with occasional overnight stays. Some overtime and weekend work may be required.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical, electronic, and/or technical background in an industrial environment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• At least 2 years of calibration experience.
• Computer literacy.
• Willingness to work some overtime and weekend hours.
• Ability to travel locally and occasionally stay overnight.
• Ability to meet the physical demands described, including standing, bending, lifting and carrying less than 100 pounds repetitively, climbing stairs, pushing and pulling objects greater than 25 pounds, reaching, walking, driving, and repetitive hand use and gripping.

Nice To Haves

• Class B CDL license.
• Welding and/or concrete knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, calibrate, and/or repair industrial scales.
• Respond to emergency customer service calls to fix and repair scales, including calls during or after working hours.
• Enter calibration data into calibration software and create Certificates of Calibration for customers.
• Maintain good attendance and a productive work ethic.
• Communicate with customers to deliver better service.
• Troubleshoot technical problems using a methodical approach.
