Calibration engineers help turn engineering requirements into real-world vehicle performance. You’ll work with vehicle systems, software, hardware, controls, and test data to tune system behavior and verify that features and diagnostics perform as intended. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to work in vehicles, laboratories, test benches, dynos, automation environments, and simulation platforms. This position is designed for an early-career engineer who enjoys learning, investigating complex problems, and collaborating across disciplines. You’ll receive support from experienced engineers while building skills in vehicle development, controls, data analysis, troubleshooting, and performance verification. A typical week may include: Performing in-vehicle calibration and testing, Analyzing data from driving maneuvers conducted in simulation, on a dyno, in a lab, or in a vehicle, Tuning system responses and identifying opportunities to improve controls, Troubleshooting issues with vehicle systems, hardware, and software, Working with algorithm, controls, software, hardware, and program teams, Balancing planned development activities with emerging issues and priorities. The primary work location is the Milford Proving Ground, where you’ll support the development of vehicle and propulsion systems, including electric vehicles, engines, and transmissions. The role also includes participation in development trips and onsite program vehicle evaluations.
