About The Position

The Supplier Quality and Process Approval (SQ&PA) organization is looking to add a Calibration Engineer to our team. This position assures that all Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE) meet the requirements as specified in PWA-Material Control Lab manual and other Aerospace requirements. It will support Quality, Production, and Non-Production initiatives utilizing CORE tools. Duties include servicing & calibrating M&TE, Capability & Suitability testing of M&TE, and non-conformance investigations. Work activity is 80% bench lab work and 20% desk work. The Supplier Quality and Process Approval (SQ&PA) calibration team is responsible for Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) calibration for Pratt & Whitney production gages. This role involves timely and accurate calibrations for Dimensional or Electrical Discipline, performing task prioritizations, and applying technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance, and use of products, devices, tests, or procedures under constantly changing conditions where some ingenuity and judgment are required. The engineer will interact with other functional groups (engineering, manufacturing, management) on routine technical matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, OR An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Education/experience in mathematics/statistics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry standards ISO17025.
  • General Competence pertaining to Testing and Calibration Laboratories.
  • ANSI Z540 Requirements for the Calibration of Measuring and Test Equipment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft word, excel, project, and power point.
  • Willingness to cross train in other metrology areas to support periodic requirements.
  • Understanding of Metrology.
  • Perform technical tasks based on written or verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, physical, and electrical properties.

Responsibilities

  • Service and calibrate Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE).
  • Perform Capability & Suitability testing of M&TE.
  • Conduct non-conformance investigations.
  • Support Quality, Production, and Non-Production initiatives utilizing CORE tools.
  • Perform task prioritizations.
  • Apply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance, and use of products, devices, tests, or procedures.
  • Interact with other functional groups (engineering, manufacturing, management) on routine technical matters.
  • Plan and perform calibrations within the specified turn time.
  • Troubleshoot items not meeting requirements.
  • Update information on M&TE within SAP and specified calibration systems.
  • Implement and support CORE and the Raytheon CORE culture.
  • Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and continuously strive to improve safety.
  • Continue expanding knowledge of Calibration.
  • Learn Measurement Uncertainty and apply it.
  • Lead customer expectations regarding calibration schedule.
  • Create standard work and operating procedures.
  • Lead process improvement for current procedures and processes.
