About The Position

The Calibration & Asset Management Intern will support a key operational project focused on organizing, tracking, and optimizing equipment calibration processes. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and interested in gaining hands-on experience in inventory management, compliance, and process improvement within a manufacturing or operational environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize project-based work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools for tracking and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create a comprehensive and accurate inventory of all equipment requiring calibration within the facility by physically locating, identifying, and documenting each asset.
  • Audit and reconcile existing equipment records against physical inventory by reviewing current databases or spreadsheets, identifying discrepancies, and updating records to ensure complete alignment and data integrity.
  • Verify calibration dates, schedules, and required intervals for all applicable equipment by reviewing manufacturer recommendations, internal requirements, and historical records to ensure compliance and proper tracking.
  • Research and identify alternative calibration vendors by gathering quotes, comparing pricing, turnaround times, and service offerings, and summarizing findings to support cost-effective vendor selection.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly labeled with asset tags by physically tagging unmarked equipment, replacing damaged or missing tags, and updating asset tracking systems to reflect accurate and current information.
  • Organize and maintain physical documentation, records, and calibration files by sorting, labeling, and filing documents in a structured manner to improve accessibility, audit readiness, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Assist in improving processes related to calibration tracking and asset management by identifying inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and helping implement more streamlined and sustainable tracking methods.
