About The Position

Stauffers of Kissel Hill is hiring a part-time Cake Decorator at its Rohrerstown Road Fresh Foods location. The role requires availability Monday through Sunday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Cake Decorator prepares and decorates specialty cakes, supports seasonal cake events and new product ideas, and helps ensure bakery products are produced and presented appropriately. The role also includes customer order processing, inventory and supply support, pricing, merchandising, and maintaining a clean and organized department. On-the-job training and leadership classes are offered.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Regularly work around kitchen equipment and hot temperatures.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Availability Monday through Sunday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Responsibilities

Assist with developing and implementing new product ideas.
Decorate specialty cakes and work with seasonal cake events.
Maintain knowledge of current inventories and ordering systems and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Mix cakes, icing, and other items as needed.
Produce appropriate quantities of products based on weekly sales projections.
Record best-selling cakes and notify management.
Ensure proper production of bakery goods in the absence of bakers, department assistants, and/or management.
Clean the department, including equipment, containers, storage areas, aisles, and display cases, and keep products and supplies organized.
Operate the price scale and maintain knowledge of current prices; price merchandise or change price tags using the price list and coordinating with the scan department.
Receive, open, and unpack merchandise cartons and crates; check invoices against received items and promptly clear restocking equipment and debris from the floor.
Set up and sign merchandise displays to attract customers and promote sales.
Take and process customer orders according to customer requests and ensure products are ready on time.
Take inventory or examine merchandise regularly to identify items that need reordering or replenishment.
