About The Position

As a Cake Decorator at Sam's Club, you will be instrumental in enhancing member service by delivering high-quality bakery products. This role requires collaboration with other associates to meet member expectations, ensuring consistency in the quality and accuracy of bakery decorative designs, and strict adherence to food safety standards. You will utilize digital tools to boost sales and improve the shopping experience, manage bakery production, and prepare for various seasonal events. The position emphasizes being a proactive team member, an expert in bakery decoration, technologically adept, responsible for the bakery area's performance, and a talent ambassador who values the member experience while fostering a supportive work environment. You are expected to comply with company policies, complete assignments efficiently, respect individuals, act with integrity, prioritize customer satisfaction, and continuously strive for excellence.

Requirements

  • 6 months' experience in fresh production area
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period

Responsibilities

  • Drive member service in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less
  • Work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and help educate other associates on tools tasks and resources
  • Communicate and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service
  • Be flexible to the needs of the business
  • Maintain instock levels and control shrinkage
  • Plan the bakery productions ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of bakery decorative designs
  • Follow recipe measurement instructions
  • Work with a variety of products for example decorating bags tips nozzles to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items
  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management
  • Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment
  • Demonstrate understanding of product and layout execution
  • Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement
  • Utilize hand held technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind
  • Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them
  • Drive the performance of the bakery area ensuring quality and date control standards

  • Prepare for seasonal events that impact the bakery volume for example holidays, graduations, family events
  • Identify member needs
  • Assist members with purchasing decisions
