About The Position

A Cage Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and verifying all cash transactions for departments and ensuring compliance with company internal controls, policies and procedures. This role involves directing, training, monitoring, and assigning tasks to cage personnel, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a professional work environment. The supervisor will exercise knowledge of cage procedures in large-scale operations, including customer transactions, money/chip exchanges, record maintenance, and operating computer equipment. They will also adhere to Title 31 procedures, ensure excellent customer and employee service, and arbitrate disputes professionally. A flexible schedule is required to open and close the cage as needed. The role also requires basic knowledge in management, human resources, and budgeting, along with strong money handling, counting, and mathematical skills. Participation in the Supervisory Development Leadership Series (SDLS) is expected annually. Building guest loyalty through sincere interactions, being a team player, and developing thorough knowledge of property services are also key aspects of the position. The supervisor must maintain a courteous, positive, and professional working relationship with all personnel and the public, work under pressure, and maintain regular attendance, including odd hours, weekends, and holidays. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in demonstrating supervisory abilities involving cash handling.
  • Relevant work experience in cash handling or cage cashier capacity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Kronos (Timekeeper Software), and Paramount (Purchasing Software).
  • Experience with operating counting equipment such as: money sorters, counters, and ten 10 key calculator.
  • Requires employee to hear, sit, talk, and repetitively use hands the majority of the time.
  • Requires employee to occasionally stand and walk.
  • Requires employee to occasionally push/pull, carry, lift, and slide/transfer 1-25 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to solve problems, organize, plan, make decisions, interpret data, read and write the majority of the time.
  • Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board.
  • Must provide/maintain a valid New Mexico drivers’ license.
  • Must comply with LDC and the Federal Government Bank Secrecy Act by acquiring and/or maintaining a Title 31 Certification.
  • Applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings, providing accurate directions, and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
  • Maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public.
  • Train, discipline, schedule, apportion work among employees, appraise productivity, and measure performance.
  • Defer hire and fire recommendations to cage manager.
