The Cage Cashier is responsible for balancing assigned banks, ensuring the protection of Red Hawk Casino's cash and non-cash assets. This role involves various transaction processing duties, including cashing chips, tickets, and gaming tokens, as well as cashing checks and processing tax documents. The Cage Cashier also handles large jackpot payouts, complies with Title 31 requirements, redeems foreign currency, and processes marker issuance and buy-back transactions. Additional responsibilities include counting and balancing chips, preparing chip fills, assisting guests with check cashing and credit lines, processing cash advances and gift card redemptions, and reconciling guest balances. The role also involves answering phones, assisting with credit-related problems, counting gratuities for various departments, distributing cash to casino outlets and Team Member banks, verifying money drops, reconciling accounts, and processing markers, returned checks, and guest deposits. The Cage Cashier maintains records of Main Bank activities, pulls and counts mutilated money, processes bus buy-ins and promotional chips, verifies and redeems table bets, pays out promotional drawings, prepares cash fills for kiosks and cash recyclers, and performs even exchanges between the slot department and the cage. They are accountable for balancing monies received and disbursed, verifying all cash, monetary instruments, and IDs, and identifying suspicious or fraudulent items. The position requires operating basic slot machinery, cash dispensing machines, redemption machines, bill counters, coin counters, and calculators. The Cage Cashier must maintain current knowledge of gaming laws and regulations, report unusual guest activities to supervisors, and train new Team Members in all Cage areas, being held accountable for errors during training. They also facilitate information flow by attending departmental meetings and are responsible for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental records. Maintaining guest service levels, informing guests about special events, resolving minor guest conflicts related to rewards, assisting with rewards questions, redeeming gifts, and encouraging sign-ups for the Rewards Club are also key aspects of the role. Performs all other duties as assigned.
