About The Position

Responsible for an assigned bank of currency and coin, using multiple software programs to service and interact with Casino guests. This role ensures compliance with tribal and state gaming regulations, internal controls, and company policies. The Cage Cashier safeguards the casino's bankroll, maintains accurate balances, and handles various financial transactions including selling and redeeming player terminal tickets, gift cards, internal payouts, sports wagering tickets, promotional vouchers, and table game chips. They also perform patron management functions, exchange foreign currency, and process check cashing and credit/debit advance transactions. The position requires working as a team, securing all items of value, reporting suspicious transactions, maintaining confidentiality, reconciling the bank at the end of each shift, and providing exceptional guest service. The role also involves ensuring control and protection of company assets and maintaining a neat and orderly workspace. Availability for changes in hours and consistent attendance are essential. Requirements

  • Two years of prior cashiering or cash handling experience or working in a fast paced, multitask environment or an equivalent combination of both.
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and cash processing software.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Delivery of outstanding, attentive, and friendly service to customers.
  • Requires ability to operate a 10 key.
  • Ability to handle stress, remain calm and courteous and handle a wide variety of clientele.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department heads, team members.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in solving practical problems and dealing with situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Able to perform minimal troubleshooting on basic equipment used in essential job functions.
  • Employment is contingent upon favorable outcome of background investigation and drug screen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License and a Class III Gaming License.
  • Completion and passing score on a cage math test.
  • Completion and passing of the Cage training program.
  • Completion and passing Title 31.
  • Completion and passing of PCI.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians - State of Washington Gaming Compact, Internal Controls, NIGC Regulations and Northern Quest & Kalispel Casino Policies and Procedures.
  • Safeguards Northern Quest Resort & Casino and Kalispel Casino bankroll.
  • Maintains accurate bank balance more than $40,000.
  • Sells and redeems player terminal tickets.
  • Sells and Redeems Gift Cards through the IG system.
  • Performs patron management functions including, but not limited to, setting up guest accounts, issuing comps, printing player cards, updated guest information, and redeeming rewards.
  • Redeems Internal Payouts.
  • Redeems Sports Wagering Tickets and adds and redeems money to the sports wallet.
  • Redeems Promotional Payout Vouchers and promotional chips.
  • Redeems table games chips.
  • Exchanges foreign currency by accurately computing the exchange rate.
  • Exchanges cash and chips for customers following specific cash and chip handling procedures.
  • Follow current check cashing and credit/debit advance policies while processing checks and credit/debit transactions through the appropriate software.
  • Works as a team with other team members to maintain the best service standards available.
  • Assures that all items of value are secured when leaving the work area.
  • Calls for assistance when any transaction is suspicious.
  • Notifies a supervisor in case of a discrepancy with a guest or any other irregularity.
  • Assists with tracking all reportable transactions in accordance with Title 31 requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality of casino and guest operations data.
  • Reconcile bank at end of shift and processes paperwork through the electronic cash management system.
  • Provides exceptional guest service to all external and internal casino guests utilizing the principals of the core values.
  • Ensure control/protection of company assets.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly working space to present a professional image.
  • Available and willing to work any changes in hours deemed necessary for Business Levels.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular good attendance record.
  • Responsible for attending mandatory training classes and department meetings.
